I was up at 6:30 AM; prayer, showered, shaved, and got dressed. Debbie got up and fixed breakfast and a lunch for us to take to Roots Tech. We drove the Tesla and parked in Conference Parking at the Church. We walked down to the Salt Palace, registered and at 8:00 am attended Five Tools for your AI Genealogy Toolbox, by Steve Little, AI Program Director, National Genealogical Society.

11:00 am, Roots Tech General Session 1; Henry Cho a comedian talked on Main Stage in Hall "E".
1:30 pm, Using A.I. Tools to Expand Your Research Universe Part 1: Chat and Search Tools by James Tanner, BYU Library History Center, 39 years Arizona trial attorney. Over 42 years in genealogical research. Day 1 class is about Chat, tomorrow, day 2, will be Resumes, and Saturday, day 3 will be on imaging; Arthur C. Clarke formulated his famous Three Laws, of which the third law is the best-known and most widely cited: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. Following the law of accelerating returns, paradigm shift, also called innovation, turns the S curve of any specific paradigm into a continuing exponential. Using databases such as Lexus can get personal information on any individuals, businesses, etc., such as their social security number, ID number, leases, traffic tickets, etc. for $5. He talked about the storing of one thousand terabytes of data. The life of any given drive today is about 5 years.
2:30 pm - How mtDNA Can Solve Family Mysteries held in Ballroom "H" by Katy Rowe-Schurwanz, President and Owner of Family Tree DNA. This is one of the companies I have used to test my DNA.
4:30 pm - Ethics in the Family History Community: Town Hall Discussion in Ballroom "G" by Lynn Broderick, The Single Leaf; David Rencher, Chief Genealogical Officer Family Search; Robert Bristow, Bristow Genealogy; and Steve Little, AI Program Director, National Genealogical Society.
3:00 pm Genealogy's Secret Weapon: How mtDNA Can Solve Family Mysteries
4:30 pm Ethics in The Family History Community: Town Hall Discussion
After the conference today we drove back home, had dinner, watched some TV, and had prayer together before going to bed.
