Ethan Hobbs' 17th Birthday
I was up at 7:30 am; everyone else here was still sleeping. I had my personal prayer, and showered. Rae Lynn got back from jogging and she and Weston came in to decorate for Ethan's 17th birthday. I went to the grocery store and got something to light birthday candles, milk, and fruit for breakfast. Everyone has to move their automobile off 34th Street where the beach house is because the city of Newport will be sweeping the street this morning. Brett moved his car and Beth gave us her keys and Brett moved her Jeep. Debbie called as she was leaving to take Shirley Hobbs to go grocery shopping. She told me the Rand Rover parked in our drive will not crank. The battery is dead. I tried to call Michael and Autumn but no answer. I called Alex and she said she would tell her dad. He has roadside assistance on the Land Rover. Michael called, Autumn and Alex are going up for a day or so to get her wedding dress fitting taken care of and will not need the Land Rover. Michael has road-side assistance insurance, and I will get it charged next week when I get home. Ethan woke and when he came down we had a birthday cake (honeybun), what he likes, and lit 17 candles. We sang happy birthday to him. Later we walked down to Banzai Bowls Restaurant for for breakfast. On the way back we stopped at the bike shop and the children had their bikes adjusted. Mike rented a bike made for two Melodie and Ava. We went to the beach; Gavin, Alex, and Autumn came up from San Clemente. Michael will be up later he is preparing for a company board meeting he has tomorrow. He will be up later. Beth took Maggie to her soccer practice in San Clemente. Melodie took Madeline to her cheer practice. When Michael arrived we all went to dinner to celebrate Ethan's 17th birthday at the Crab Cooker which opened in 1951. After dinner, we walked back to our beach house. Michael and Gavin drove back to San Clemente tomorrow. Gracie has to work but will be here in the morning. Melodie, Bella, and Madeline are back from San Marcos. Ava is spending the night with her Granma Vickie. We had family prayer, and Luke led us. I called and talked to Debbie and she led the two of us in family prayer. I had my personal prayer and got to bed before 11 pm.
