Prioritized Daily Task

Thanksgiving Day

Note: A question came up today, "Who would be in your Faith Hall of Fame and what is an example of your faith in the Grace of God. (It is acquired and difficult writing daily in my journal, but I do it knowing God can and will do something good with it.)  I have known so many men and women of great faith who have come into my life that I do not want to start to rank them and neither am I capable of ranking them.  My father, James Olin McAlpin, set an example of serving others in need, keeping the Sabbath Day holy, caring and providing for his family, and paying tithing.  L.L. Mayo mortgaged his home and his office supply business to be able to meet the need for money to build what became the first stake center building in Georgia.  Moule Kinikini, the father of Kimie, and grandfather of Ailine Kinikini who was blessed with faith to heal the sick.  Max Morris Kimball has a difficult time seeing faults and weaknesses in others.  He raised Barbara Borg's father, Brother Robinson, from the dead at the dedication to the Roswell Ward building in Atlanta, Georgia.  Robert "Bob" Borg was much like Moule Kinikini; they were never a general authority in the Church but I believe their blessings in the Kingdom of God will be as great as the apostles and prophets.

My faith in the Grace of God is more than faith as I look back on my time here on earth.  It is knowing, I know, that the Lord has preserved and directed my life from the time I was born.  Looking forward my faith is in the Grace of God that the atonement of Jesus Christ will erase all my sins.

I heard some of the family and got up. I had prayer at 7:05 AM, folded the blanket, and stored it and the pillow.  I checked on Debbie; she is doing well this morning and got a good night's sleep. We had prayer together and went downstairs to the garage.  The smell in the garage was gone.  It was the garbage in the container I put the lid on last night.  Debbie has muffins, bagels, juice, fruit, yogurt, cereal, cream cheese, etc. for breakfast.  Jared and Jami came with the children, Tylee, Porter, Tate, Max, and Jack Hobbs.  The Macy's parade is on TV and everyone visiting and talking.  Matthew called and wished us a happy Thanksgiving Dad.  I sent a happy Thanksgiving Text to all the family and older grandchildren.  I called and talked to Roy Bryant, one of my few first cousins still living.  While the girls got dinner ready the children played and the others watched a pro-football game, Chicago and Detroit.  Went to open the LG Refrigerator and the right door handle came off.  The plastic attachment on the other door is cracked.  I tried to order the parts online but one site did not show any.  I called but they are closed today.  Some of the children are snow sledding on the mountain and driveway.  Debbie and the girls had two table filled with chips and dip, fruit and dips, and cheese and crackers to snack on until the turkey and ham are ready.  The LG oven and back eye does not work very well.  Debbie cooked pot pies and casseroles from Costco and the temperature gauge set on 400 degrees takes about half again as long to cook as indicated on the container.  Laura Gourley brought her portable oven for Debbie to cook the turkey today.  We watched Football and Basketball today.  Debbie and the girls fixed an incredible Thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen was cleaned.  When it got dark we lit a fire in the fireplace and had dessert, 4 or 5 different pies and ice cream, watched football games and 28 of us played a game where we all started with 3 one dollar bills Debbie gave each of us to play.  Tyler put Josie to bed and I did not count the 2 of them.  The last one left gets or wins the entire pot.  Camden won the game and all the money, a hundred dollars including the $40 Debbie salted the pot with at the beginning of the game.  The children really got excited near the end of the game.  We had a family prayer before going to bed.  Anndalyn led in the prayer.  Jared and Jami would not let Debbie and me sleep on the couch.  The children had the air mattresses.  Debbie and I slept on Michael and Autumn's bed across the hall from the large bathroom with a shower and Jared and Jami slept on the couch.  Debbie is feeling much better than she did yesterday.  We had prayer together and got to bed before 1 AM.
