Park City Ski Resort - ski most of the day with Matthew, Rae Lynn, Bella, and Brody (take pictures)
I was up early this morning, had prayer, and later had prayer with Debbie. Jason Plow came by early and plowed out the drive. We had breakfast at McDonalds and drove up to Park City. I used Matthew's old skis and boots. Rae Lynn used her snowboard and rented snow boots. I bought a ski pass. One of the latches on my boots was broken but it did not make any difference no better or faster than I ski. I switched skies and poles this morning. We got it straightened out before leaving this afternoon. My skiing days are getting shorter all the time. Rae Lynn and I started skiing at about 10:00 a.m. I skied with Matthew, Bella, Rae Lyunn, and Brody until about 2 p.m. when I decided it was time to start down. Matt helped me get down. My left leg was not giving me much support in turns and my snowplowing was tiring both legs and hips. Matt acted the part of a big semi-tractor truck in front of me. As a big truck using its gears to slow down with another truck's front bumper against the rear bumper of the big semi keeping the truck behind from running away. Matt was the semi and I was the old truck whose breaks and gears were not working well. If he had not helped, I would have taken a break, pulled my skis off, and walked. I when I got down I went to the restaurant at about 3 pm and bought some chicken strips and french fries so everyone could have a snack when they got off the slopes. While I was waiting I called a couple of old friends, Richard Clard and Mike Coultas, I have not talked to him in some time. Richard has prostate cancer and is going to have surgery. Mike has moved back to his hometown where he grew up. He wants to be buried there. Living in the town means his body will not have to be transported back. Before the lifts closed at 4 pm. Matthew called and I picked them up at 7-Eleven Convenience Store and Shell gas station in Canyon near Park City. We stopped in Heber and had dinner at a salad and pizza restaurant. Matthew and Rae Lynn bought some food for Bella's birthday. We got home and the children played. Brody jumped off the balcony on the second floor into the snow and made a snow angel. Bella did not jump. She was so tired and upset with herself that she did not jump. She is getting a cold and needs rest. We made reservations for her birthday party tomorrow night at 7:00 pm at Market Street Grill in Salt Lake City. We drove back to the cabin and unloaded the Land Rover. I called Debbie, Matthew called Melodie, and Rae Lynn called Brett. I had prayer and got to bed before 11 pm.
