I slept in this morning, had prayer, and later had prayer with Debbie. I called and spoke with the secretary at Happy Valley. I told her about the permanent outside colored lights my son gave us like the ones he put up on his home in California. I would like to get Happy Valley technicians to install them when they take the white ones down this month. She said she would have Ammon Orchard give me a call when he gets out of his meeting this morning. Debbie went grocery shopping. Michael called me back and did not understand how the 57.08 acres were separate from the land Mom left us in Alabama and the land Dad left us in Georgia. He asked if I would write it down and send it to him. This I will send to him, Matthew, Beth, Rae Lynn, Susan, Amy, and Dan. "When Mother passed away, 17 December 1995 she left the land she inherited from the Smiths, Aunt Elender's estate in Alabama to Ora, Elain, and me. When Dad passed away, 10 January 1989 he left the land he inherited from the Smiths Uncle Will's estate in Georgia to Ora, Elain, and me. There was another 60 acres (57.08 acres to be exact) Dad purchased and cut the timber but did not sell it. I think he planned to give it to Lawrence but he passed away; so on 13 January 1977 he gave the 60 acres to Ora and Elain. Ora, Elain, and I agreed to divide the land, Elain and Ora would get the land in Alabama and the 60 acres in Georgia. I would get the farm we grew up on in Georgia. Elain and Ernie wanted money to buy a home in California and asked Ora to let them mortgage the 60 acres. Ora did not want to because if Elain and Ernie did not make the payments she would lose her half of the 60 acres, but she did not want to say no to Elain and Ernie. I offered to purchase Elain's part of the 60 acres. This was agreeable to everyone. This is how I came to be a part owner of the 60 acres (28.542 my part according to the survey by Angel Surveyors). Last year Ora wanted to put her half of the 60 acres (28.542 acres according to the survey by Angel Surveyors) in Susan's and Amy's names. When she did this I put my half, 28.542 acres, in the McAlpin Family Trust the same as is in the farm recorded February 26, 2003, in Plat Book 33, Page 85 by Elbert Angel, Land Surveyor.
......the conservation contract on parcel 0016-0001v (57.08acs off Jacksonville Rd). Any name/owner/split Susn, Amy, and the McAlpin Family Trust changes made this year 23 Feb. 2023, are in violation of the contract and may cause a breach. A breach would result in a penalty of two times the savings per year. If you split the land into two portions this year (2023), each owner MUST come into the office Jan 1 – April 1 2024 and CONTINUE the current contract. Then when the original contract expires 12/31/2024, if the owners wish to continue the Conservation, they will come into the office Jan 1 – April 1 2025 and begin their 10 year contract. This came from Monique Carruth Haralson County Assessors Office, Exemption Administrator, Buchanan, GA, phone (770) 646-2022. He called me and said he would put it on his calendar care of." from my journal entry on 7 March 2023.
Debbie and I had brunch. I went by Home Depot and bought some paint and blue painter's tape to paint the electric wire on the permanent outdoor lights Matthew and Melodie gave us for Christmas. I also bought some tools to clean out the dryer vent at the cabin and some salt to melt the ice on the walk and street at the cabin. Matthew called and I drove down to Provo and him at his office setting up the furniture after the carpet layers were finished. While we waited for the carpet to be installed and the WiFi installers to finish we at lunch at the Chinese restaurant across the street from his office on University Ave. I have not heard from Ammon Orchard about installing the permanent lights on the outside of the house. I will get some spray paint, take, salt for the sidewalk, and a dryer vent clean-out at Home Depot on the way to Matthew's office and take my toolbox. We put the 4 desks back together that we took down and moved out in June or July of last year when Mirko Jelicic was here. Matthew brought everything down from the cabin where he had it stored in the U-haul trailer he brought up from San Clemente. I brought a carryout box of orange chicken and susi from the Chinese Restaurant home to Debbie. I stopped at Costco and filled the Subaru with gas. Debbie and I watched the Elvis movie, had prayer together, and got to bed a little after midnight. Matthew drove back up to the cabin; cleaned the garage and got a foot or two of lent, and a towel out of the dryer vent that was keeping the dryer from working correctly.
