Debbie and I were up early this morning, we had prayer, showered, and got ready for the day. Debbie made a lunch for us to take with us today and I set breakfast up. After we ate, Debbie drove the Tesla today and parked at the Church's conference center. We caught a golf cart shuttle to the Salt Palace. 8:00 - 9:00 am - Family Search's Tree Integrity initiative, by Robby Parker, Software Developer at Family Search. He gave us a tour of the new additions to the program; family search community page and profile quality score. 9:30 - 10:30 am - Secrets fo the Family Search Record WiKi in Ball Room "G". Danielle Batson, WiKi Content Manager, Amber Larsen, WiKi Project Supervisor. 133 different languages to choose from and on-line learning. 11:00 - 12:00 noon - General Session 2, Kirbby Hayborn, actor and musician; Aaron Godfrey, V.P. Marketing My Heritage; Lynne M. Jackson, the great-great-granddaughter of Dred Scott and Harriet Scott. He was born in Southampton, Virginia. In his youth, Dred Scott was known as "Sam." He later changed his name to Dred Scott. He moved with his master to Huntsville, Alabama and later to St. Louis, Missouri. In 1831 his owner, Peter Blow, died and John Emerson, a surgeon in the U.S. Army, bought him and Harriet for $2,000 (a thousand dollars each). Then John Emerson set them free. Nancy Borowick, a photographer, gave a very touching memorial presentation to her father and mother. A Jewish family and story told in pictures and narration. Debbie and I set together in the program. Most of the others we were in different rooms for different presentations we were interested in. At noon we went to the cafeteria and found a table for lunch. 1:30 - 4:00 pm - DNA Academy, pulling it all together - tests, vendors, tools, and you in Room 355 D. Roberta J. Estes, MS, MBA, Genealogist. I downloaded the Banymn DNA app. I started doing some case studies in this advanced class with an uploaded software tool for building, visualizing, and analyzing complex genealogies. I stayed for about half the class before leaving and going to the exhibit hall. I went to the GEDmatch booth and opened the app. and downloaded my Family Tree and My Heritage report into GEDmatch which combined the two DNA tests. I will have to wait to download the Ancestry DNA report for them to make it available to download. The last class I attended at 4:30 pm was Uncovering Family History with My Heritage AI tools by Ran Snir, V.P. Product Management at My Heritage. They have many excellent tools. Some of them are Identify and Tag, Record Finder, Create Biography, Photo Tagger, etc. Debbie went to another session and when the conference ended we walked back to the parking at the Church's Conference Center Debbie drove to Laura's and loaned her two castrol dishes. My stomach is upset tonight. I worked on catching up writing in my journal and had prayer with Debbie before going to bed.
