Pick up rental car-Enterprise
1:00. And appointment 3:30-50 minutes—Irish Family History Centre, CHQ Building, Custom House Quay, Dublin 1, Ireland
Debbie and I were up early, had prayer, ate breakfast at the hotel, we checked out of the Best Western and rode the shuttle bus to Amsterdam Airport and caught a Ryan Airline flight FR 421 at 10"30 am to Dublin. We landed at 11 am and picked up our Enterprise car rental. We used Debbie's GPG and ran it through the rental car's GPS. We to downtown and check-in Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane Hotel in Dublin, Said Ui Maricin Road (R813) across the Liffy River from the Convention Centre at the Samuel Becket Bridge, named after the Dublin writer. I was here for the ribbon cutting and opening to the public on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009. When I stayed here before and met Jimmy Carrol he had a penthouse suite at Maldron Hotel. I had talked with the reversionist, 011 353 (1) 643 9500, and got a room reserved for Debbie and me for June 24-26, with a possible upgrade if available. (confirmation number 254639186 - parking at Qpark, 32 Euros daily) I used my Citi Bank Costco Visa card to guarantee the room. When we arrived we got an upgrade and stayed in room 444 just down the hall from where I stayed in December 2009. We parked the car in a parking building, Best Car Parks, about a block from the Clayton Hotel and walked to the EPIC Museum 2016. An Irish immigrant Edward Neville Isdell (born 8 June 1943) is the former chair and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company. In 2013, he acquired the CHQ Building for €10 million, It was built in 1820 as a new bonded warehouse to store large and valuable cargos of tobacco, tea, and spirits. In 2016 Nevil Isdell funded and launched EPIC, EMPOWERING PEOPLE IN CARE, The Irish Emigration Museum. It rooms have been divided up to tell the history of this area bringing together the history of Ireland and it;s people. I met with a genealogist consultant, Declan Brandy, PHD. I spent over an hour with him and went over the family of Alexander McAlpin, "McColpin" in the Carolinas and Georgia and Robert and (Sarah McCalpin) Janet McColpin in Belfast. Below is the notes he sent to me and a suggestion to work with Ancestral Reverse, look for descendants of Robert and Janet McColpin or Sarah McCalpin. I met Debbie who had finished the tour of the EPIC Museum. We walked back to the hotel and had dinner and watched some TV. I talked to Rae Lynn and wished her and Brett a happy 18th wedding anniversary. Debbie and I had a service tech hotel employee get our TV working by bringing us another remote control. We watched some TV and had prayer together before going to bed at about 10:30 pm.
