Max and Debbie's in Cedartown
Visit Earlton Youngblood and Bethel Church near Delta, AL
I slept in, prayer, showered, shaved, and called Debbie. We had prayer together. Max and I drove over to Earlton B. Youngblood's in Gaylesville, Alabama. I rented a room and stayed in upstairs in the house he was building. It looks much different than it did 10 years ago. It was the second time I had rented a room from him and Sandy. Sandy passed away on June 18th of this year. Earlton has been living by himself and is not doing well. He will be 85 years old on April 9th of next year. I took some pictures. One was the bedroom that wasn't finished and not heated in the winter. There were no stairs and I climbed a ladder to get to my room. Max and I took him to brunch at a small family-run drive-through in Lyery, GA. We brought the food and handmade lemonade back and ate on Earlton's back porch. Before we left we had prayer and asks a blessing on Earlton, his home, and his family. We laid our hands on Earlton's head and Max gave him a priesthood blessing. Before we left he called his son, Patrick, who lives in Daybreak near where Pat and Anndalyn Hobbs lived. Max and I drove to Bethel Church near Delta, AL. There was no one home on the church road and we stopped cars but no one knew who was in charge of the cemetery. I took some pictures of family graves. Before we left we saw a sign with contact information for the Bethel Cemetery, Jimmy Nelson, home phone 256-253-2930; cell phone 256-201-1261 and for Glenda Frames, home phone 256-253-2261 and cell phone 404-861-8332. When we got back to Cedartown I called and talked to Jimmy about donating to maintain the cemetery. He said I could mail a check to him at 6319 Hwy 431, Heflin, AL 36246. On the way home Max and I stopped in Helfin and got some food at McDonalds. Max and I had leftovers for dinner, talked to Debbie, and watched before calling it a day. I called and talked to Debbie at home in Utah. We had prayer together and I went to bed. Max and Debbie invited me and my wife, Debbie, to join their family in a fast next Sunday for Carson Kimball, a 17-year-old who is in a spinal injury clinic. He is paralyzed from his waist down from a high school football game injury. Carson is Randy Kimball's son, Donny's grandson, and Larry and Margaret's g. grandson. Larry is Max's brother. And for, Will Kimball, Max, and Debbie's grandson is on a mission in AZ. He is Spener's, oldest son, is a diabetic, and has not dealt well with riding a bike in the heat.
