Note:  The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded today to John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton for work on machine learning with artificial neural networks.

“John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton used tools from physics to construct methods that helped lay the foundation for today’s powerful machine learning,” the Nobel Committee for Physics said. “Machine learning based on artificial neural networks is currently revolutionizing science, engineering and daily life.”

Debbie was up early and went to her weight training. I slept in. When I got up, I had my personal prayer; when she got home, we had prayer together. I went to see Dr. Clint Mower. He had my right knee X-rayed, but the X-rays did not develop while I waited. He did not have enough time scheduled to do a dementia test. I have an appointment for Oct. 14th at 10:30 AM.  I came home and picked Debbie up and we rode to the Saratoga Springs Temple at 8:30 AM.  She did proxy initiatory.  When she finished she came up to 3rd floor and she joined me in doing sealings.  We came home and changed clothes.  Debbie fixed dinner at 6 PM.   I read and Debbie watched TV until about 10 PM when we had prayer and went to bed.
