Prioritized Daily Task
10:45 AM - Holy Cross 3000 Trump Blvd. CAT Scan
Note: Poem by Michael Dougherty and Howard Thurman
When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and the princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flocks,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring justice and peace to all people,
To make music in the heart.
To bring Christ’s Light to the world.
I got up at 6:30 AM and had prayer. I let Debbie sleep she has been getting up early and working and going all day. I studied scriptures and read some before getting ready and going to my appointment for a CAT Scan. I called Humana Insurance before going in to know what the co-pay would be. I was told $197.00 but the hospital wanted to charge me $218.84. I told them I would pay $197.00 and I put the charge on my Citi Bank Visa Card. I stopped at the car wash and got the Tesla washed and cleaned. Later when I got home Debbie went shopping and checked on Shirley Hobbs. I tried to crank and move the Land Rover out of the street but the battery was too weak to crank the motor. I tried calling Michael and called Cody, my neighbor and Elder's Quorum President. He came by after work and helped me get the outdoor lighting on the house going again and jumped the Land Rover using his pickup. I drove it to Costco and filled it with gas. I parked it on the street in front of the house until Debbie got home. Debbie got home and we ate lunch. I went to move the Land Rover but it would not crank. I talked to Cody and he brought his battery charger but it did not have enough power so he got his pickup truck. This time I drove to the Auto Zone parts store. They checked the battery and it was good. Something is draining the battery. I came home and moved the garbage containers. and put them further behind the side of the house. I pulled the Land Rover in and connected it to Cody's battery charger. I pulled the Tesla out, backed it into the garage, and put it on the charger. I backed the Outback in the drive leaving room for Debbie to drive the Tesla out and go to her weightlifting training tomorrow morning. Debbie and I ate dinner, studied scriptures, and read before going to bed. I worked on making notes about the Watkins family whose children are 1st cousins to Clint Lathon, Deacon in the Pleasant Hill Church that lives on McAlpin Road. The Watkin's children I knew when I was about 15 years old. Debbie and I had dinner, studied scriptures, and had prayer together before going to bed at 10:30 PM.
Note: From text messages: To Curt Lathon, are you related to any Watkins that lived on the Jacksonville Road near Buchanan?
Yes Sir, my aunt was Bea Watkins! She was married to Bill Watkins.
Bea was my Dad’s oldest Sister
Aunt Bea and Uncle Bill had Jimmy, Carolyn, and Joyce Ann abs later adopted Natalie, Bobby and Harry Watkins. The children, Jimmy, Carolyn, and Joyce Ann and the others are my first cousin’s.
Carolyn and Joyce Ann, are still with us but Jimmy passed years ago.
My uncle James and my uncle Howard lived right across Jacksonville road from them as well as my aunt Annie Lou! My grandfather was Tom and my grandmother was Indy Anna Deese until she married Tom. They had the old farm across form Mercer Brown. Those are my people. My ties go back a ways maybe not as far back as yours do but I am certainly born and raised in the area. But my whole life changed when I got married and moved to Pleasant Hill.
Bea Watkins and my mother, Inez Thrash McAlpin, were very good friends. I was encouraged to be friends with Joyce and even allowed to drive the truck to her house for her birthday party.
