Deborah 'Debbie' McAlpin's 73rd Birthday
5:30 pm Harvest Restaurant and Luminary Thanksgiving Point
Note: Message in Debbie's birthday card, "How can I find a present for the most wonderful wife? What present can I give you that you will appreciate, and be a blessing to you?
While you were away, I did a little work but nothing like what you are doing almost all the time. I did some work in the kitchen, finished washing, drying and folding the clothes, and did some dusting. I had to bind over some of the and it did not take to long before my lower back was hurting as if I had been hoeing or picking cotton. I realize you do this all the time. You never complain or hardly ever ask me to help.
Before I ever met you, I remembered what was told me about you. “I went over to Pat and Anndalyn’s who was home with a newborn baby and an older son in the hospital with cancer. Debbie was on her knees in the kitchen scrubbing the floor.” You rarely ask for help but are always helping others.
I thought it was time you got some good help you could count on at least once a month. You are all set up with Utah Maids. Just give Bonnie a call at 385-628-7268, to schedule a time.
Love you,
Leonard McAlpin, your husband"
I got a good night's sleep. Had prayer, showered, shaved, and let everyone sleep. I waited until 10 am to text, and call Debbie. I wished her happy 73 Birthday and we had prayer together. We all went down to Heber to see Razors, and Polaris off-the-road vehicles we could put a snowplow on. Matthew, Melodie, Bella, and Ara took me down to Lehi. Melodie and Rae Lynn gave me a present to give to Debbie for her birthday. We stopped at Harmond's and I got some almond milk. When we got home Melodie gave Debbie her present from her and Rae Lynn and their families. Debbie had already opened her birthday presents except the one I have for her. I put it in her stack of presents and if she doesn't notice it by tonight I will put it in her hands. I picked up the mail, made a bank deposit, and brought in the trash and recycle containers from the street. I got ready for dinner this evening at 5:15 pm we rode to the Harvest Restaurant at Thanksgiving Point and had a nice meal. We came back home, changed into some warmer clothes, and went to Luminaria LUMINARIA at Thanksgiving Pint. Improved each year with more statues and lights. The theme highlights the mission of Jesus Christ. After the tour, we came home and picked up the German Chocolate cake and a slice of Debbie's birthday cake from Harvest Restaurant for Ava and drove to Jeff Nelson's and his 15-year-old son, Cole. We went with everyone down the street to Brian and Elizabeth "Liz" Camberlango, who lived in the culdesac at the end of the street. They had a large 50-gallon metal drum with the top removed and air vents cut in the side. Brian had a hot fire built, and many neighbors with children were gathered. Jeff brought fireworks to add to the collection and shot off all sorts of fireworks until about midnight. Before January 1st we had a birthday party and sang Happy Birthday to her. She went over to Laura's and picked up a present from her family for her birthday earlier before the fireworks started. We came home and had family prayer before going to bed about 2 am, January 1st, 2025.
